San Francisco Sunset District, Richmond, Haight-Ashbury
With the Pacific Ocean to its west and Golden Gate Park in the middle, this section of San Francisco has a lot to offer. This area boasts excellent schools, a low crime rate, beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, and it is one of the easiest places to park in the city. Haight-Ashbury is the famed neighborhood of the 1960s hippie movement and the Beat generation. It is now a trendy neighborhood that has kept a bit of its bohemian flavor with many of the restaurants, bars and stores being locally run. The most famous of which is Amoeba Music, which is the largest independent new/used record store in the U.S. You'll be sure to find something different if you visit one of these neighborhoods. |
